Plan your trip on MARTA using real-time train schedule information! Select a station, destination, or line to get started!
The original version had the ability to create a user account and add comments and pictures, plus specific station information, but this was removed in favor of just displaying the train schedule. This resulted in a simpler, more user-friendly UI and experience.

Originally a Fortran-only program, I decided to make a web-based version not only as a personal challenge, but to be able to show it to anyone with internet access.
I learned much more than I thought I would from this seemingly small exercise, namely how different languages are better suited for certain applications and how different programming was in the 1950s as opposed to the present day.
I first discovered coding and web development in July 1999 on a platform called Expage, which was meant to be used for very simple, little-to-no code, single page websites. I quickly outgrew Expage and moved to Tripod and later Angelfire, which offered a more advanced environment; nothing but a blank textbox to type your code into.
I re-discovered this wonderful world in January 2019, and it was nothing like how it was when I left it about 15 years prior. I studied on my own at first, and in April 22, 2019 I joined Flatiron School in Atlanta, GA to learn full stack web development.
I have 4 years of experience as a professional software engineer/full stack web developer, primarily with Rails and React. I enjoy full stack development because the backend and the frontend are different enough to provide different experiences and challenges. I also like to experiment with other languages and try new things every once in a while, just to see what they are like.
